Trying to downgrade NC700 headphones and I think the boseupdater.exe needs to be brought up to 7.0.2.4913.

0neday commented 3 years ago

I try to change version 7.0.13.4860 into 7.0.23.4913 using hxd, it seems does not work. maybe need more cracked

Got the solution for you bros.

IGNORE the old guides, that tell you to replace the BOSEUPDATER.EXE with the edited one. It's old none working news. You dont need to modify it, because the Proxying accesses the Github folder by itself, so theres no use at all to change the BOSEUPDATER.EXE

All you need to do, is to KEEP the same new installation of Bose that it recommends, do not modify anything in the files there. Then just follow the Charles proxy'ing path, and go on internet explorer, using the same new BOSEUPDATER.EXE bose gives and pushes to us.

Just follow the Charles proxying method, Use Internet Explorer, Use the up to date BOSEUPDATER.EXE Then do the whole rest once you got your headphones connected, A D V UP DOWN and stuff and you got the menu all good.

It just keeps saying UPDATER OUT OF DATE, because we kept changing the BOSEUPDATER.EXE to the modified one, that has no use at all in the process, we just impeded ourselves for no reason.

Do that and get yourself a good version. Enjoy life

I can confirm that this works!! Thank you Alexsys for writing this. I can finally use these headphones as they were meant to be used. Hopefully BOSE fixes this in the near future but I'm not holding my breath.

For anyone who still needs to downgrade their headphones (I used the NC700) I used this comment by VA1DER https://github.com/bosefirmware/ced/issues/4#issuecomment-701664460

And they reference this post by jimtje for the Charles information. https://github.com/bosefirmware/ced/issues/4#issuecomment-548209258

Thank you again!!

I'm running macOS Big Sur and the directions from VA1DER do not work for me. I end up at the Bose update screen telling me I have the latest firmware installed, no option to use the hotkey to downgrade. I followed the instructions from the 2 posts:

"For anyone who still needs to downgrade their headphones (I used the NC700) I used this comment by VA1DER #4 (comment) And they reference this post by jimtje for the Charles information. #4 (comment)"

Did not work still presented w/the firmware version I have installed and a note that it's the latest

Here is the SSL Proxy settings Screen Shot 2021-01-26 at 1 41 27 PM

and here is the remote mapping Screen Shot 2021-01-26 at 1 42 00 PM

Charles certificate is installed Screen Shot 2021-01-26 at 1 43 54 PM

Anyone have any luck getting this to work on OS X ?

scyther3989 commented 3 years ago

I used windows so I can't help you with Mac stuff. Only thing I could possibly suggest is to add another entry in the map remote settings and omit the 443 port and see if that makes any difference. Mine looks like this: image

maybe that makes a difference? Good luck!

Thanks for the idea, unfortunately that did not solve the problem.

lukikow commented 3 years ago

Just follow the Charles proxying method,

Where I can find the Charles proxying method guide?

It doesn't work anymore, I have a bose quietcomfort earbud that needs to downgrade the firmware, I've tried many ways but it doesn't work. Can anyone confirm whether changing page index is still effective? And please give me some pictures of bose quiet comfort 1 charles configuration, thank you very much!
