By default, the Gauss Rifle is only repairable by other Gauss Rifles. Seeing as there are no other Gauss Rifles in the Wasteland, this can quickly lead to a broken weapon.
All I've done is change the Repair Form List of the Rifle to another one that includes Spare Parts, Plasma and Laser weapons, both Pistols and Rifles.
The Operation: Anchorage DLC is, obviously, required for this to work.
