Update astronomy application #23

What is the context for the figure, i.e. where is it meant to be included/used?

I think the figure is a good (and popular) one to include here, justifying the astro application in general. It's fine here, but will likely better fit in the broader narrative when that's more fleshed out. Let's merge this one, and then it can be moved later on.
