Google Earth Plug-in Crashes on Launch in Safari, Camino, & Chrome, but not Firefox.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Download latest plug-in from maps.google.com. 
2. Unzip disk image; open disk image; double-click plug-in to install. 
3. Quit and relaunch all web browsers. 
4. Load maps.google.com; click Earth button. 
5. Virtual globe loads, then crashes immediately. 
6. "There was a problem with the Google Earth Plugin. Please try reloading the 
page. If that doesn't help, you can re-install the Google Earth Plugin using 
this link." 
7. Reloading page doesn't solve. Nor does re-downloading and installing. 

What is the expected output or behavior? What do you see instead?

Which plugin version are you using?

Which browsers and operating systems are affected?

Please provide any additional information (code snippets/links) below.

Exactly the same problem. Take 1 min to load, then There was a problem with the 
Google Earth Plugin. Please try reloading the page.
