Won't open #926

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Trying to open Google Earth
2.

What is the expected output or behavior? What do you see instead?
Expect to see a complete earth "home page'
Instead see a error message Direct X not supported
I downloaded a current Directx and reloaded google earth... same thing 
happened. Tried OpenGl and got only half an earth and no detail

Which plugin version are you using?
DirectX most current

Which browsers and operating systems are affected?
XP Firefox

Exactly the same problem. One day, Google Earth stopped responding, with a 
message: "DirectX mode not supported."
Following your list, the display was OK, no other program was running and 
DirectX is the current 9.05... (actually reloaded, no difference) and working 
good according to dxdiag.
Operating system XP - Internet Explorer 8 (refreshed).
I uninstalled and reloaded Google Earth, no difference. The files and folders 
in "Documents and Settings...GoogleEarth" were erased - and never rebuilt.
The message in debug.log is always the same: 
"[0414/163118:WARNING:backend_impl.cc(1875)] Destroying invalid entry."
The antivirus was disabled, no difference.
What do I look for???
