Is there any work in progrss in order to have the bot using channel on Mattermost?

@epaminond Yes, I'm interested in developing such feature. I just have to convince my teamates (managers) that the chatbot is useful for us.

Is there any good starting point to develop channel adapters?

I'd take messenger's channel package and would try to rebuild it for something else as a starting point.

I noticed some possible pieces of code to use:

• https://github.com/loafoe/hubot-matteruser as implementation example (for Hubot),
• https://github.com/RocketChat/botpress-channel-rocketchat as channel implementation example as Rocket.chat and Mattermost are quite similar (both similar to Slack)

Damn! Reading all around, it seems that creating a separated repo is not necessarily the better way to develop a module.

What is the best approach:

• separated repo
• fork of botpress, and hacks directly inside modules/channel-mattermost

Sorry for not accepting a simple "won't do", I guess it's the usual "fixing bugs right now". But that doesn't mean this isn't a feature Botpress should support!

I'll be asking to reopen it when my plans for Mattermost clarify.

Bonjour - our plans does not include Mattermost in the short/mid/long term for now.
