Here are a few thoughts about the layout. Right now, some things are contradictory and a bit hard on newcomers.
First of all, the left pullout menu and the top right overflow menu (three dots) are sometimes contradiction with each other. They both lead to the settings but otherwise options differ.
The left pull-out menu is also not obvious and underused.
It should either be removed (if opting for a tabbed interface, which is currently the case) or should be made more obvious and populated, I think.
Another thing is the filter button on the playlist, some of the options make sense, but the last one is really more a setting than a filter: “automatically populate the playlist with recent episodes".
This sounds like something that should be a playlist setting, possibly in a Playlist section of the settings.
“Bulk download” would also make more sense in the Subscription tab than elsewhere.
The most basic function, adding a podcast, is hidden in the overflow menu. It should have a big + button in a circle, on the main page (easily leading to podcast discovery, as most people don't have a podcast URL in mind in general)
One last thing that comes to mind is that the Download manager is only available from the side menu, and not the overflow menu in Subscriptions.
