Library Thumbnails

How are thumbnails for the library handled? For some Bottles it says "No Thumbnail".

How does Bottles select a thumbnail? How can i assign my own Thumbnail if Bottles doesn't detect it?

Bottles downloads cover arts from SteamGridDB. You can set your own and learn where they are placed by following this guide: https://forum.usebottles.com/t/guide-custom-cover-arts-in-library-view/673

It seems that Internet Archive miraculously archived the guide, which is nice. Though the forum not working yet again should be reported. Really makes you wonder why it has so many connection issues (I reported it myself few times already)

Archiving it here for others:

• Create a 600x900 png with your chosen cover art
• In your bottles' folder, create a folder called grids, it must be on the same level as the drive_c folder.
• Put your png in that folder
• Find your library.yml, for me this was under ~/.local/share/bottles/library.yml
• Find the corresponding entry in that file that belongs to your bottle, and add an icon property. Eg. for me this would be:

  icon: /home/mine/.local/share/bottles/bottles/mybottle/icons/pic.png

Rest of the properties removed for brevity.

@norbertkeri icon seems to refer to something else. I have so set thumbnail thumbnail: grid:pic.png

I found the library.yml but it was empty with just '{}'.
