Web Annotation Protocol document #381

We need to read and specify the related parts of the Web Annotation Protocol document. I believe we should also revisit the Data Model documentation afterwards.

I hope we will have clearer views on how our annotation server should behave.

I have read the document and I think the specificity required for complying to this document is out of the scope for us. I think we should only take the parts which we couldn't be sure how to implement(handling id fields in requests and responses for example). I believe this because:

  1. At the end of the 1.Introduction section in the Web Annotation Data Model document, it says: "The related [annotation-protocol] specification describes a recommended transport layer, which may be adopted separately.", which is what gave us the idea to look in this document. I understand this as not a must in order to comply with the web annotation data model, which is our requirement.

2- An example: handling paging with this standart requires reading and understanding another document.

Let's switch to #382 for discussing endpoint specifications.

I will close the issue if there are no disagreements.
