My name is Francesco Borzi', and I am a software engineer by profession and passion.
I've been actively involved in open-source communities. Among several, I've contributed as Team Leader to the AzerothCore project.
At AzerothCore, we utilized Bountysource as a platform for donations and developer support. In the past, I also personally contributed financially.
Years ago, I established contact with individuals at Bountysource, including the former director Nicolas Le Herisser. Initially, I reached out to report bugs, seek support, and propose features.
At one point, Nicolas requested a testimonial video about Bountysource. In the video, I explained our utilization of Bountysource at AzerothCore and its significance. A quote from my testimonial was published here:
The video about my testimonial stayed on the Bountysource website until recenly, because I've just requested them to remove it:
As a result of this video, some members of open-source communities have associated my name with Bountysource, occasionally mistaking me for an employee.
I would like to openly clarify:
I have never been an employee of Bountysource
I voluntarily created the testimonial video without any compensation
I share in the disappointment over the collapse of Bountysource, which resulted in financial losses for many projects and individuals, including myself and the AzerothCore community.
In the past, I lodged complaints with Bountysource regarding issues, primarily via email and also publicly on GitHub:
The Bountysource employees I previously contacted seem to no longer work for the company, according to their LinkedIn profiles.
I have no knowledge of Bountysource's future or any affiliation with them. I am solely a former user, sharing in the disappointment and sadness caused by the financial losses.
