Tutorial notebook #79

Here's the notebook I made as a tutorial for the BOUT++ workshop.

I'm not sure what the best way to incorporate this into the repo/documentation is.

To avoid increasing the repo size, I'm going to clear the figures and rebase to remove the version with the figures from the history.

To save time, I've made some minor edits and pushed changes rather than adding comments. Changes are described in the commit messages. I hope they are uncontroversial. Possibly the 'Create new figures when needed' change is a matter of taste...
