Wait, doesn't this just overwrite Chrome.app for each channel? I think the chrome module should be a singleton (as it was) so that only one version gets installed. The channels also share the same profile and the dev/beta channels may render your profile unusable in stable. Canary was partly created to address this problem - Chromium and Canary can co-exist with a single Chrome install.
