History On Phone #13

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Turn off "Launch..." action
2.Send from chrome to phone
3.Dismiss notification
4.URL/MAP sent no longer available

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Would be great to have a "History" of past notifications so you can visit
at a later time even if you want to clear your notification tray

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Chrome OS / Nexus with 2.2

Please provide any additional information below.

A history would be welcome. Sent about a dozen links to my phone on a recent
NYC trip, but lost them all when I cleared by notifications.

Without "history" a bookmark solution is more efficient / effective:
More steps to setup a bookmark, but the bookmark is not lost/discarded.

I agree with you. I believe that it is necessary to be able to preserve the
history in your telephone, and if you could manage it from your Google account,
I think that it will even be better.

I attempted to add some basic history functionality here...it is ugly and rough
but maybe the owners of the project find it useful.

Given that we'll support multiple phones and also phone to chrome, I think we
should have history on both device and server. I'm working on preserving last N
links on server - probably based off by default. It would be nice if the phone
will update its local history from the server.

no one seems to care...

i did however find that you can get "history" like from your android
clipboard... not the greatest solution because it does not launch the
application itself, but it does give you a little help, albeit not as slick as
it should be
