Notification volume is controlled by the "Ringtone Volume" instead of "Notification Volume" #39

using 2.2, latest apk on the phone.
when I separate Ringtone & Notifcation volume settings, the chrome2phone
notification volume is determined by the "Ringone Volume".

It would be even better if I could either a) disable notifications from the
applications's settings, or b) pick a custom ringtone for C2P notifications.

I don't really want to bother all my co-workers each time I send a link to my
phone...

The notification feature should be changed. Notification volume need to be
controlled by the notification volume contole and not the ringtone volume
controle. Everytime I send a link to my phone it almost explodes due to that it
uses a too high volume for the notification.

I also think that it should be possible to configure the notification setting
for the app. Sound notification should be possible to mute.

Yes, this needs to be changed. It really blasts away with an increadibly high
volume anytime the notification comes through. :(

Hopefully this is an easy change. Zod...'s idea is also good.

Adding to Zod..'s idea. If possible you could let us select the color of
notification LED light especially for the nexus one.

Hi, I attempted to fix this... only requires two lines of code to change. I've
attached the diff. I tested this on 2.2 running on a Droid X and it appears to
respect the notification volume. This is my first time posting any code so go
easy on me!

Thanks loudtiger. I've used this plus an additional tweak to have all
notifications use the same audio code. Will be another 2 weeks or so before
there's a Market update with the fix in.

OK, forgive me but the Status says fixed but I don't see the fix. If I'm to
download the code then what do I do with it? I checked for updates to the app
but there is nothing and the last post to this blog was Aug 23, 2010. I'm
probably missing something.

The fix probably is that Android now links ringtone and notification volumes.
