Steam games have poor audio quality #162

I have the plugin set up to separate all of my sound but for some reason when I launch steam games the game audio becomes airy sounding in the recording, although whenever I do anything else on my pc the audio works great. Is there a reason why it's weird with steam games? Games from other platforms sound as they should in the recordings.

Same for me on 2.2.2, although it happens most often with source engine games, them becoming either muffled or echoey. Alt-tabbing sometimes fixes it. Other games sometimes just have a "patch" of bad sound somewhere. 24/48000 in Windows and OBS, no enhancements, no surround, game set to stereo headphones.
