Sources stopped working & OBS Crashes #88

I have been using this plugin for approximately 4 weeks, and first of all: the first 3 weeks were amazing, it was truly the greatest feature in obs I got. BUT: in my last stream all sources stopped working and I had to enable my original desktop sound source to be able to hear anything on stream. More importantly: I have also had a lot of OBS crashes the past week and a half (5 streams), not every stream but definitely a lot more than before. I have reinstalled my OBS, including the reinstallation of the plugin - still crashing. I have come to the moment where I need to remove it because of these crashes.

Steps for removing it:

  1. exit OBS
  2. remove win-capture-audio.dll 1639704982

Are you sure, because there was a win-capture-audio uninstall file I pressed and it went gone? I have on the other hand reinstalled it to once again hope it will work, and that button I pressed to uninstall is not here now and I am so confused over what I pressed to begin with.

But as I stated: I wish I didn't have to remove it at all, as I really love what it does when it works, just sad it doesn't work for me anymore - or at least for this point.

You should upload your log and crash dump to OBS to help analysis. OBS issue report: https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/issues

If you want to confirm if it is caused by this plugin, you can remove it temporary as I said.

That's not such a bad idea, didn't think of that! I will have to look into that after Christmas is over, also haven't streamed since I reinstalled the plugin again so may be back to working like it did before. I hope, I wish, I pray.

You can also upload your dump here, I can help analysis.

same, fantastic when it works, but when it doesn't my stream goes to 0 kbps and OBS hangs and sometimes I even have strange bips and either the PC blue screens, or windows says it's blocking obs64.exe from accessing graphics hardware.

false alert, after removing the dll, I have the same problems... damn why video game streaming is such a pain. even my paid softwares have problems...

Hi, I'd like a little help now when I'm home from holiday celebrations. If I may get your help? or someone else seeing this. So I reinstalled the plugin to be able to replicate the issue, and right now the main issues are Sound Sources not broadcasting and Not able to close OBS without task manager.

Sound sources not broadcasting: For me it looks like they are.. the sources look like this: image But everything seems normal, but when watching the stream that sound doesn't send, only my microphone. My workaround is the Desktop Audio, which has been inactivated through recommended setup settings but had to be put back on because the stream couldn't hear anything. So Pretzel, as we use as an example right now, is sending to OBS, but somehow sorted out when streaming it.

Not able to close OBS without Task manager, this is how OBS looks when I press the X to close the application. image and however long I let it be it will never close, until I end it with task manager. I mean it will go hours as I usually shut down the stream and head off the computer, I have let it be for up to 12 hours without it actually closing down.

I am not sure how clear I am, so ask questions and I will try to provide info and we might be able to come to a solution that isn't uninstalling the plugin because I miss it when I don't have it.

Hmu if you wanna time it to one of my streams and check the issue out first hand.

and crash reports aren't available as IK can't actually close the application now, I do have an old crash report from when I posted this errand to begin with. Crash 2021-12-11 12-28-45.txt

@Trooxi

Sound sources not broadcasting: I am not so clear about your issue. About the streaming, do you mean there exists sound of microphone but no sound of Pretzel ? How about the record video? According to your screenshot, it seems only Pretzel was pushing audio data.

Can't close OBS This is a block issue, instead of a crash. You'd better provide these files to help debug:

  1. block dump (it can be generated by windbg or task manager)
  2. versions of your OBS and win-capture-audio
