Random Link on mobile devices - Incorrect initial zoom #426

Open hajo62 opened 2 years ago

If you display the random link on a mobile device in landscape view mode, the zooming does not work correct and does not display the whole image. I tried that with an android device, an iPhone as well as in the device view in chrome browser where I took the screenshots.

An image selected from the random link - display in full screen zoom:

And here when the simulated device is set i.e. to iPad zoomin does not work (See the scroll bars)

I'm using the suggested docker image version (v1.9.0) - Side question on that version.

Same behavior with v1.9.1 build 17.02.2022

Random link shows you the raw image. There is no html around it. Your device decides how to show it.

Also be aware that random link poses a security issue now. See #392

Hhm, I had expected, that the random link displays in the same manner as normal views. My idea was to use that i.e. in the Fully Kiosk browser to display a slide show. Maybe someone has an idea to do this a different way. If not, that bug might be a feature request 😉

And regarding #392: I don't understand the additional risk provided by the random link. Same as with normal links it needs a uid/password login befor displaying an image?!

The idea behind the random link is to use as a raw input for different software. (Although I never get to use it anywhere). So, sorry, but I do not plan to change the behavior of the random link :/

Regarding to #392, you are right, you still need the login, I was wrong.

Anyone know of any way to CHANGE the wallpaper on an android device at some interval with one of the images from the random photos link PiGallery2 creates? I'd like to be able to setup a search for my family and have my phone background always set to one of those photos.
