Well, we didn't remove any plants since there weren't any, so I wasn't sure what to select for that option. We measured ground only fluxes, not ecosystem. The soil was covered in a thick litter layer, so the flux is a combination of soil and litter respiration. This is not very different from other places, but in more humid ecosystems the litter is more incorporated into the soil profile, whereas in our case it was clearly a separate layer on top. I hope this helps!
