memory filesystem lacks proper metadata #159

All file timestamps appear to be the epoch for the memory filesystem.

Among other things, this keeps pythons zipfile module from being able to add 
files from the memory filesystem to an archive, since zipfile requires that 
every file have a timestamp newer than 1980.
