File Not Found error #194

Open TomMcCluskey opened 7 years ago

TomMcCluskey commented 7 years ago

I'm running Android 7.1.1 on a Nexus 6p, and I cannot open my KeePass database; I keep getting a File Not Found error when I try. I'm currently on version 2.0.6.4. This is not a new thing; I've never gotten it to work at all. I've switched away from PasswordSafe on everything but my phone because I've been unable to get this app to work.

I'm syncing my database with Syncthing, rather than DropBox or any other cloud solution, and locating the file with Astro file manager.

I'm getting this error on all my devices too. I tried moving the location of the database in case it was a permissions error but no dice.

I've been getting this for a while as well. Everything works fine the first time I open the database. Afterwards, I get a File not Found error. I find that, if I go back to the database selection screen, browse for the database again (instead of selecting it from the list), open it, browse for the keyfile, it will work.

Note that in browsing for the keyfile and for the database, I have to make sure I switch to a different directory than the one the files are located in, and then navigate back to the directory.

I amseing this also in 7.1.1. Re-selecting the file allows me to open it though.

Same here on LineageOS 14.1(Android 7.1.2). KeepassDroid can not remember the last openned file, so I need to re-choose the file using file-explorer everything I open it.

Same here. Someone knows a solution? This would be nice, it's totally annoying.

Same here on Samsung Galaxy S7 (stock rom). Worked perfectly fine, then I was flashing custom roms and experimented a bit, went back to stock and now I cannot open the file anymore.

Note: I copied a fresh database from my pc to my sdcard, so the file didnt get broken by messing around with roms and stuff.

Same problem here. Android 7.0 Dropbox 144.2.12 KeePassDroid 2.4.1 Already tried to remove and reinstall both KeePassDroid and Dropbox, nothing changed. Also tried to move the database in another directory in Dropbox, nothing changed. I noticed that if I open the database, then exit KeePassDroid and relaunch it, it works with the correct file for a while, then it doesn't. I could not find a timeframe in which it works, though.

This is really annoying, is anyone taking care of it or the developement is dead?

Disclaimer: What follows might be all a mishap of my own, but as I am unsure, I'll leave it.

I'm experiencing this on android now. It works on windows, but not on android. I've noticed before how I always need to search and select the key file or it won't work, but now it simply doesn't at all.

jorfus commented 1 year ago

I unchecked 'Recent File History' in app settings, and reselected both files, and now it works.

I also had to reinstall keepass in order to select a different database though, but I might be an ignorant noob on that point.

So what I did is I:

  1. Reinstalled
  2. Unchecked 'Recent File History'
  3. Selected db and key files
  4. Entered PW
  5. Logged in

I had been transferring the files back and forth, and so may have messed something up to begin with, of course.
