Provide the ability to use more than one disk for logging #599

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Currently, the log manager is always assuming it can write into a single disk. 
In other words, we cannot specify more than one disk to be used for logging. I 
would suggest to add this ability since we are the design phase of the new log 
manager, possibility through striping.
