[CLOSED] Brackets crashes when opening files via p4v #3444

I'm using Perforce's P4V app on Mac OSX 10.8.3. When I double-click files inside p4v to launch them in Brackets 24 - Brackets crashes immediately. This happened in Brackets 23 as well.

In Brackets 22 - the crash would only occur occasionally. However, as of 23 - it crashes every time.

No such crash occurs when double-clicking files in Finder however.

Please let me know how I can send a crash dump.

@globexdesigns Is Brackets already running when you double-click in p4v? If so you may be hitting the crash that's described here: adobe/brackets-shell#235.

If you're set up to build brackets-shell, feel free to pull down that branch and let us know if it fixes it for you!

Correct. It only happens when Brackets is already running.

Reviewed. To@gruehle to track. Marking medium priority even though this is a crash, since the ability to launch Brackets in this fashion is currently not an official feature, and users would have to explicitly set up that association in another tool like P4V in order to hit this, I believe.
