Issue with loading backups on SCPH-5501 #57

Made a backup of Parasite Eve for an NTSC PSX (Model number SCPH-5501). I am able to boot into FreePSXBoot, but the game won't load. FreePSXBoot also identifies the part number on the backup CD. Same issue happens on official, licensed PSX CDs. FastLoad identifies the part number, but won't actually boot into the game.

I have same thing with 5500 (with swap trick). Very few backups loading correctly.

I just tested five different NTSC 5501 models and had no issues booting a retail copy of Parasite Eve 1. I used image freepsxboot-unirom-fastload-20210430-bios-3.0-1996-11-18-A-8d8cb7e4 and a MemCard PRO to test. Didn't try a burned copy.

This may be related to my issue, are you using slot 1 or 2? When I attempt to load Rayman with slot 2, it freezes, if I use slot 1 image it works fine.

I can boot backups just fine with the latest version of FreePSXBoot (20211004) installed into Slot 2 on a SCPH-5501. Retails sometimes don't boot when FreePSXBoot is just chillin' in Slot 2 [exploits not running] (which is a current, known, issue).

I just tested Parasite Eve and Rayman backups on a NTSC SCPH-5501 with freepsxboot-unirom-fastload-20211004-bios-3.0-1996-11-18-A-8d8cb7e4-slot2 and I had no issues booting them. If the OP can't provide any more evidence or a follow up that this is still an issue I would close this.
