I have an SCPH-9001 and I'm certain I'm using the correct MCD file. I'm restoring it using my PS2 and Memory Card Annihilator 2.0, and I used the Slot 2 version. After it's restored I put the card in Slot 2, disc drive open, power it up, go to Memory Cards, and nothing. It's as if the card wasn't even written to. They are third-party memory cards I got off of eBay, and I did use tonyhax at first and then overwrote it but nothing ever loaded. I ordered a first-party memory card, so perhaps that'll fix it, but in the meanwhile, something may be broken or it may be user error.

Well, in the end I got an official memory card and it worked eventually. I'm not entirely sure if that was the issue though. I restored the MCD image to the memory card and plugged it and, it didn't work. I turned it off, plugged it back into my PS2 to try to reflash it because why not and it caused my PS2 to not boot. If it was in the PS2 at all just a black screen. Once as a test I plugged it in after the menu loaded and clicked "versions" and then it softcrashed(?) (the lights were spinning but wasn't progressing), so eventually I just decided to put it back in my PS1 thinking "maybe it works?" and lo and behold Unirom loaded. Not certain what exactly was going on, but I've loaded it a few times now with no issues. I think in the end the third-party cards I bought might be the issue. They say 1 MB, but who knows truly. I guess I will once I start playing Parasite Eve.
