added basic tests and lints with gulp, made jshint less :poop: crazy, ex... #8

Created basic tests/lints, exported some of the internal functions to test with, maybe even introduced a api. created travis stuff for testing in the cloud, which would be enabled by owner. cleaned up source to pass jshint. I made it less crazy via .jshintrc. added dependencies to package.json
