Postal addresses can be placed in address tags, as long as the address tag is used to indicate the relevant contact data for a document's maintainers.

That's correct and exactly what the spec says. The reason I suggested this edit is that the majority doesn't think of the address of the documents author(s), but rather a generic address in terms of a location, company address etc. I also believe this to be more helpful than the other case.
