Thanks for the report. The next time you notice this happening, could you please check if midiproc.exe
is running? When opening the menu, only the music should be lowered, and not the SFX.
Thanks for answering, Brad. I checked it. The midiproc work as intended, lowering the volume when the menu is brought up.
But what its occuring to me its different. Sometimes the midiproc and doomretro lowers their volumes to a certain level when i open the menu, then when i close it, midiproc rise as usual, but doomretro stays low and i had to restart them and then manually adjust the volume of doomretro by opening the volume control of windows. Sometimes they both stays low, but a little higher than when the menu is up.
I know you implemented the menu lower volume function recently, but this bug happened to me since i started using Doom Retro, around 1.5, but its somewhat erratic, and i can't replicate it on purpose. I found that it sometimes happened while dying and bringing the menu up and then closing it and ressurrect me via console.
Sorry - got distracted! This has been reported before, (and has happened to me before). All I can think it would be is some other software using SDL changes the volume while DR is running, and that affects its volume in the volume mixer. I can only assume it would happen to other source ports as well.
Well, its nothing big as issue, and is easily fixeable if one knows how to fix it. So don't worry about this one, Brad ;) But just for the record, it also happened to me whitout nothing else open in the back. Just the desktop, DoomRetro folder, Doomretro.exe, and Chrome checking things while playing.

Hi, Brad! How you doing? I'm experimenting a bug but i can't seem to reproduce it all the time. This is happening to me on version 3.5.7. Y die in game for whatever reason, and when i open the menu to manually load, the music and sfx gets lowered, as always you open the menu, but in this case, if you have died on game, every sound will stay lowered even if you load or not. And its rather hard to fix, as one had to restart doom retro and, while the titlepic is on screen, open the volume control of windows and manually raise it until its fine again. If not, the volume will stay low. As i said, this bug doesn't happend all the time, don't know why.
Sometimes it happends when i have slade3 open, and sometimes not. So i don't know.
