Because of how everything in DR is scaled either 1x or 2x, scaling the elements of the widescreen HUD makes it look way too big in it's current configuration (that is, player face on top of health). I may look at having the health alongside the player face as DR was originally). For the alternate HUD though, I'll look into increasing the size of all elements by 25% to 50% (although it may not make the upcoming release).
I really like the minimalist aspects of both widescreen huds (both the standard one and the Doom 2016-style alternative), but I'm not too keen on how small they look on the screen. I like having big numbers and icons to make gauging my health, armor, and ammo at a glance. Would it be possible to implement a cvar that scales the size of the widescreen HUD elements? I'd love this especially for WADs that implement custom HUD elements so I can really admire the fancy numbers and such.
