Peeking to layers above and below seems to be broken. #9

Peeking doesn't seem to work. When Shift+Up is pressed, we should be able to see below us. When Shift+Down is pressed, we should be able to see above us. Neither of these actions work. Perhaps this commit broke the peek function?
