Mean Dynamic Topography #5

Open ram21ARC opened 2 years ago

ram21ARC commented 2 years ago

We convert to h over geoid, but I don't don't think we correct for mean dynamic topography, could explain 1-2 m of deviation from 0. Won't make a difference because it doesn't vary with time

bradlipovsky commented 2 years ago

Is there a relevant Open dataset that we could tap for this?

Two come to mind: DTU - https://www.space.dtu.dk/english/research/scientific_data_and_models/global_mean_dynamic_topography I think there are more recent versions than DTU10 MDT on the ftp. Armitage - https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/2017JC013534 Which Geoid model did you use? Need to be careful, I recall DTU changed the Geoid model between releases, and it isn't well documented
