It would be great if this plugin could support GDPR plugin cookies by letting admins enter cookie names and values which cause the tracking to work or not.
This feature is available in other solutions, where you can enter a cookie name/value to control the tracking.
Only if the given cookie value is received from the browser, tracking is active.
This has mainly 2 advantages:
You can control tracking opt-in by GDPR banner plugins (like Complianz) - default would be no tracking until the user consent in tracking within the GDPR banner
You can lock down the Matomo installation by only allowing piwik.js / matomo.js / container_*.js to the public. All other Matomo pages can be locked down to be accessible by named IPs only (Unfortunately, the opt-out feature is integrated into the index.php)
