I have changed the structure of the DOM a bit and added required CSS.

I tried to be consistent with given examples: http://www.getmdl.io/components/index.html#layout-section/layout

<main class="mdl-layout__content"></main>

anyway it is just a HTML5 tag that does not differ from div: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_main.asp

I think that before merging the PR I could (or you could) squash my commits.
