Line numbers #16

Add a section describing:

[ ] how to render line numbers in the left margin, taking them out of the normal flow
[ ] how to render line numbers in the left margin, not taking them out of the normal flow

The line numbers are assumed to be in the text already, automatically numbering lines is not a requirement at this time.
