@gribber Thanks for reporting. I'm sorry things are broken for you. I did have a look and was able to reproduce with a unit test. Working on a fix right now.
Will be fixed with #1986. New version will be released today.

As of dec 26 (I guess it's related to the update middle of december), all my nested groups contain all devices/lights when it only should contain those expanded from area specified example:
