version without play store? #2

Hi,

Do you have have version that doesn't require the play store? I have IoT device with a Android BSP that I have can not install the Google Play services.

@bblivecare there will be a version with no dependencies released at Saiy-No-PS.

I can't make any promises on timescales though, as I have so much to do with the full release version....

I was very excited when I stumbled upon Saiy. After installing and finding out that I DO need Google Now and can't use anything offline I don't quite know what you mean with "offline". I really want to encourage you to focus on the Google Free version. 👍 Many users are looking for something like this.

I, too, am looking forward to a Google-less version of Saiy. I'm not fond of using Google's voice search for things, and would rather Saiy be more independent of that. If not fully independent, at least make it depend on alternatives, such as S Voice.

Hi hear you @HarvHouHacker @Wiredframe - in order to gather some momentum, I've had to focus on a stable version available on the Play Store (with all of the Google dependencies required). Now I'm almost there, I'll turn my attention to the 'independent' build.

I have a headless tensor flow mycroft with snoboy and sql backend. I can hook you up with a repo for it if you want.
