Problems accessing Turkopticon #291

This just installed today so maybe I'm missing something. I did look in Settings but didn't see any way there to add TO2; it seems to be considering just the older site under the general "Turkopticon" label. I admit it's a bit confusing to me at this point so - is there some way I can turn on access to both TOs, 1 and 2, and even when there are no reviews?

(I don't normally use the Finder, it's never worked well for me, but I did just check it to see if maybe the TO links are different there. They look the same.)

I will add something for the "Your Activity" page, I honestly forgot about them since I never use them (whoops).

TO2 was disabled March 22, 2019 in MTS: https://github.com/Kadauchi/mturk-suite/commit/e723bf46e3235cad9aeb19c6c8862b27233355a2

I can look at adding TO2 back in the future but it would be a lower priority item. The TO2 servers were down all of the time and locking up MTS and with how little reviews actually get posted there it wasn't really worth it to try and fix then. Even the TO1 servers aren't that good (they only allow you 1 request every 60s and block the rest which is why is appears to be loading all of the time) but that is at least used/important enough to keep around.

Some review numbers:

January 2021 (YTD) TV Reviews: 10,271 TV Return Reviews: 3,656

TO1: 420 reviews TO2: 47 reviews

December 2020 TV Reviews: 25,680 TV Return Reviews: 7,852

TO1: 1,140 reviews TO2: 525 reviews

Thanks for your reply. I can understand how TO got missed; after all, MTS and TV are working together now so it makes more sense to consider TV.

I can't speak for anyone else but personally, I prefer TO to TV; TV's format just doesn't work for the way I read, or write, reviews (which is why I'm still posting to TO but only rarely to TV). In the MTS update I can still access TO1; as you said, TO2's been locked out of MTS for almost 2 years now but the live link on the previous version of MTS would at least let me go there. Now, there are no live links so I have to check manually, and I like to do that if I've worked for that requester, to see what I wrote.

I don't know if you've added the TO links back to the "Your Activity" page; I don't usually work weekends unless there's something really good and today there isn't, so I can't tell. If you can't justify adding the links because of low numbers that's your choice, but I think you should let people know why they don't have an option they used to have. It might also help to ask them how they feel about that.

I have found a way to work around the lack of links; I even found a way to add TO1 reviews for a new requester (I am in touch with Six Silberman and asked him for a link). But it adds time, and I just discovered something with the blocklist setup that is also more time-consuming to deal with. The new interface has generally been hard for me to figure out, I think because it has a lot of features I don't use. It's probably going to be really helpful to a lot of people but for me it's too much. I'm going to try to find a way to go back to the earlier version; there were instructions about that on a Reddit thread a couple of days ago but I can't find them now so if you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it. I just turned off automatic updates on the Firefox version so that one will stay as it is, but Firefox is just my backup in case Chrome isn't cooperating so I need the Chrome version to work for me.
