Infinite signal on disconnection #19

Hi,

It could be good to be able to set an infinite signal when connection has dropped. This signal would be stopped by user action on screen.

Sometimes connection drop, and I don't hear it. I have to put my ear close to speaker to be sure it still running (see my last submitted "issue" 😅).

Regards

Can you clarify what you mean by an "infinite signal". Do you mean playing a sound over and over, indicating the connection is severed, or displaying a message?

Now that there is a notification when the connection is lost (https://github.com/brarcher/protect-baby-monitor/issues/18), is there still a need for this request?

Hi, I meant playing a song over and over, as an alarm. Notification when connection is lost is good, but different. Imagine you are sleeping, and you do not hear the "connection lost" sound, you will never heard the baby crying, because there is no connection anymore.

Notification is good when you are still awake. You have to go to another room, do not grab your phone, connection is lost, you haven't ticked "Infinite signal for lost connection" so you haven't heard the classic "connection lost" sound, you get your phone, you see a "connection lost" notification.

Notification is good when you are still awake.

Not always. Imagine you're talking with friends that laugh loudly, and miss the really short connection lost sound, you'll never be warned that the baby sound is disconnected. An infinite sound notification (like every physical baby phones do by the way) can solve the problem : the connection lost sound each 3 seconds for example, until connection is back again, or user stop the notification.
