1) Please describe the steps to reproduce the situation:
a. set the extra encoding threads to more than zero
b. start the ripping

2) What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I see:
WARNING: Threads are not supported on ruby gtk2-bindings
that are older than 0.18.0. Setting them to zero.
Please upgrade your bindings if you want threads.

3) What version of rubyripper are you using? On what operating system? The
gtk2 of commandline interface?
using rubyripper 0.6.1
on Ubuntu 11.10,
gtk2 interface
with bindings ruby-gtk2 1.0.0-1
