Some websites UI is not rendered properly which makes it unusable at all when the brave shields is enabled. The only way to make the website working is to disable it. But probably there could be a better way to make specific adjustments to the adblock settings, so that it would make the website work, but with other blocking options enabled. It is not a good idea to have the brave shields completely disabled in order to use a website, since then you are deprived of any protection.
For example, if you use Ublock Origin, it allows you to whitelist/blacklist your own elements/requests.
