Anyone who can please reply to those questions

Krishna-art-dev commented 11 months ago

Can brave browser able to hide search queries and refer? Like adguard do?

Hide your search queries Hide the queries for websites visited from a search engine.

Hide Referrer from third parties Prevent third parties from knowing what website you are visiting.

This two

antonok-edm commented 11 months ago

Can brave browser able to hide search queries

Yes, if you enable Aggressive shields mode. You can get even more query parameter stripping through dedicated filter lists.

and refer?

This one is trickier since we've found it will often break websites. However we do apply a stricter referrer policy which you can read about here if you're interested.

Why brave browser doesn’t uses ublock filter-mobile.txt , annoyances-cookies.txt , quick-fixes.txt

Brave does offer additional filter list options in brave://settings/shields/filters, including uBO Annoyances and the Fanboy Annoyances supplemental list. We don't enable those by default because there are some users who still want to use things that they block, like customer service chatbots or newsletter popups.

Does brave browser also follow ublock origin badlists? The one which has lists of filters that creat issue in ubo.

You can check the full set of lists we enable by default here. That does include uBlock Origin filters - Unbreak.

I had tried to add abp anti circumvation on ubo it didn’t uses any of its rules. does brave browser also does that?

We don't enable that by default but if you add it as a custom list subscription in brave://settings/shields/filters, you should be able to use it in Brave.

Does brave block access to lan is same as brave local host access

Brave has a special permissioning feature for access to your local network, which you can read about here.

Does brave browser supports all built-in ubo’s additional filters like adguard one. There is support for fanboy annoyance but for adguard’s all filter? Ubo style ones

Generally if it's in uBO's set of default lists, we try to support it. There are a few AdGuard-specific syntax extensions that we've added support for in Brave, but generally I'd recommend using uBO-style filters as much as possible for best compatibility.

Asking this because Adguard works better in my region

Do you mind sharing which lists you find are better supported by AdGuard? We may be able to help with finding something that works better in Brave cc @ryanbr

For example on d3ward.github.io/toolz/adblock

I think they've improved slightly, but keep in mind that site has been misleading in the past (see here for more info)

Why fanboys’s enhanced tracking list isn’t being updated also fanboy Facebook fanboy anti font fanboys Indian list is not being updated and somethimes when I open that lists it shows updated mostly not

Those lists specify update intervals of 7 and 9 days, respectively. If you see them not being updated for much longer than that, please do let me know though.

ublock origin have all this default filter lists https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/uBlockOrigin/uAssetsCDN@main/filters/ This much I know by your adblock resources GitHub page, it doesn't have ubo's filter-mobile.txt. that why I am asking why brave doesn't support it or its on its way to come on brave Also annoyance-cookie.txt and quick-fixes.txt isn't also on brave adblock resources list.

https://ublockorigin.github.io/uAssets/filters/badlists.txt This is the list of filter which cause problems in ubo that's why abp Anti circumvation filter doesn't work in ubo, ubo does not uses any of its rule that's why I wanna know does you guys also follow this filter, brave uses ubo's filters mean it can cause problems here or not(idk), or it just gonna work perfectly fine?

Screenshot_2023-09-29-09-49-14-52_e4424258c8b8649f6e67d283a50a2cbc

Not related to filtering rules Brave browser turn of an on its setting? I saw that whenever I install brave browser it changes it settings like In settings

brave privacy and security

Social media blocking (all Google login button on third party sites) this one gets hidden sometimes, sometimes it stays still I uninstalled and installed brave a lot of times to check this happens. And background play button it turns on sometimes by default by sometimes not Like mine I didn't turned that on buts it's on and working fine without being enabled in brave://flags

But sometimes after installing manually have to enable. Is this a bug or something else. Idk that's why I just let you know this happens in brave stable ,beta and in nightly @antonok-edm

So far brave browser is the only one the best browser with default AdBlock. If you see ads/annoyance then you can report it in Forum or Easylist. You don't need to subscribe another annoyance filter such as AdGuard annoyances, Fanboy's Annoyances with uBo annoyances as supplement list works very well

**Always set the AdBlock to aggressive for better experience

  1. The default settings are quite good to go with.

  2. Yesterday YouTube started showing a popup, saying: You are using some ad blocker. Disable it to view YouTube videos. You may purchase Premium subscription for ad-free viewing experience. [I have not quoted the exact text from YT here!]
