[Desktop] Outlook PWA works only once #11536

Description

Adding the Outlook PWA only works once, and only if you delete all Cookies first. When you close the PWA and open it again, Outlook just opens as a normal site in a new tab. Also, the menu-item "Open in Outlook" changes to "Install Outlook" and does no longer work until you delete all Cookies again.

No issues in Chrome.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Go to outlook.office.com
  2. From the Brave-menu, select "Open in Outlook"

Actual result:

First time (fresh login, cookies deleted before): Outlook opens as a PWA as expected Second time: Brave menu-link changes from "Open in Outlook" to "Install Outlook" and does no longer work. Creating a shortcut will open Outlook as a normal tab instead of a PWA.

Expected result:

Being able to always open Outlook as a PWA

I just noticed it seems to work with all sites but outlook.office.com, the one I really need it for.

Does it work on outlook.live.com? Unfortunately there's probably not a huge amount we can do about this - I'd say it's more likely to be a problem with how outlook.office.com is configured.

One other thing you can try is go to brave://apps and right click on the shortcut you created and tick the Open in Window option: Image
