Disable Omnibox search #13678

I like to use autocomplete but In order to prevent sending all my inputs from the address bar to my default search engine I have to setup my default search engine to just null. I then use my search bar with a custom hotkey. This is a decent workaround but when I mark a word and right click it to search it on the web, it presents my default search engine, which is null. So either let us choose which search engine to use when right clicking or just fix the need for a workaround by having the option to disable searching from the address bar. @SmaltParrot50 Autocomplete for search engines is default off in Brave, you would have to turn it on here: brave://settings/privacy

You could also grab this extension here to add more search engines to your context menu. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/context-menu-search/ocpcmghnefmdhljkoiapafejjohldoga

Does that work for you?

Automatic search (not only autocomplete) and expansion with "www" and ".com" is annoying and one should be able to disable it. If you enter a URL and mistype it, search is triggered and there is no way to quickly correct your text.
