Here's an example:
👍
Desktop now has the Force Paste
option which is great 😄 (was tracked with https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/22567)
We do need to get this on Android though

Oh, really? I spent a good amount of time looking for this yesterday. "Paste" didn't return anything when I went searching in settings also.
@drstevens try right clicking any text field; you should see a Force Paste
option. Doesn't look like there's a keyboard shortcut for it though
Just found the Force Paste
feature, and i'm delighted that it finally exists! I tried a couple of 3rd party extensions with mixed results.
On MacOS, we can update keyboard shortcuts with the OS on a per app basis, so I could overwrite cmd-v
to Force Paste
instead of the default Paste
... but that begs the question, is there a time where someone wouldn't want to Force Paste
? I'll have to dig into the feature a bit further, but ideally what i'd like to see is a setting to enable Force Paste
as the default Paste
option for all of Brave, so that users can toggle it on/off as they like.
How do I turn off this garbage

Some websites disable copy/paste in password fields, which means that some password managers can't be used and therefore forces users to use memorable (hence insecure) passwords.
I'm not sure what mechanism they use for this, but we should take this anti-user capability away from them.
