xdg-open with Thunderbird on KDE (Arch / Manjaro) Linux #15232

Open xstable opened 3 years ago

xstable commented 3 years ago

Description

If you click on an mailto:xxx@yyy.com Link, the Browser shows a dialog and ask to allow xdg-open to executed. I allow it, but nothing happend after that.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open a webpage with an mailto:link (like this: https://www.barmer.de/formClient/barmer-de/unsere-leistungen/online-services/9170/kontakt)
  2. Have an installed (and running) thunderbird at your linux-desktop
  3. Click on the mailto-link
  4. allow xdg-open to be executed
  5. wait ...

Actual result:

nothing will happen, I even found no error-messages at the cli if starting brave via cli

Expected result:

open thunderbird

Reproduces how often:

doesn't count it, but feels like multiple hundert times. This issue appears since I've start using brave some month ago.

Hi,

I have the same problem in Brave 1.34.81. Xdg-open don't work for open Thunderbird in Linux. I have installed Brave from dnf in Mageia 8 Plasma Kde x86_64.

Hello, Same issue here. All other tested browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Opera) open Thunderbird as expected, but Brave opens a new tab with an Open xdg-open dialog. When I click on the Open xdg-open button, the tab closes and nothing else happens.

I installed Brave using Snap.

Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS (64-bit Gnome 42.5) Brave v1.51.118 Thunderbird 102.11.0 (64-bit)
