Windows 10: Can't stop youtube autoplay

It seems that Brave got an update very recently maybe and I can't stop youtube autoplay for some reason, I keep turning it off and it turns on automatically.

I even tried to go into brave settings and blocked youtube.com from autoplay, but that did nothing.

If I go to

brave://settings/content/autoplay

Then change the toggle to blocked from allowed, it seems to work but if I'm listening to a playlist where the default behavior is to autoplay, the next video will start and then pause.

What I really is for Brave not to interfere with Youtube at all, I'm fully able to control the settings I want from within Youtube and I don't want a browser to help me with that. I want Youtube to function exactly as if I open it in Firefox or chrome.

This is a recent issue that I started having, maybe 2 weeks ago or so. Maybe some update caused it to happen.

@elieobeid7, Can you please confirm what version of the browser you're currently using? I'm also curious if you see this behavior:

• In a private browsing window
• If you disable any extensions you currently have installed

The issue is not reproducible in Windows 10 x64, verified the versions 1.36.109, 1.36.110, 1.36.111, 1.36.112, 1.36.115 and 1.36.116

Steps followed:

1. Use fresh profile and make sure global autoplay setting is allowed and no entries in block list (brave://settings/content/autoplay)
2. Visit https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1190634/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
3. There is no video being autoplayed
4. Change the global autoplay setting to blocked
5. Visit https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1190634/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
6. There is no video being autoplayed
7. Change the site settings autoplay settings to blocked
8. Visit https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1190634/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
9. There is no video being outplayed

Couldn't reproduce in Windows 11x64. Verified in Versions 1.36.110, 1.36.112, 1.36.115, 1.36.116.

Scenario 1: When Autoplay is turned off in the Youtube, it is turned on automatically - Can't reproduce

1. Autoplay turned off in the Youtube
2. Waited ~ 5 minutes. Turned off mode working as expected.
3. Next video didn't play, automatically._

Scenario 2:

1.Blocked Autoplay from brave://settings/content/autoplay 2.Autoplay control is On in the Youtube 3.Up next message shows up 4.But next video in the playlist is not played automatically.

Scenario 3:Next video in the playlist pauses after Allowing Autoplay in brave://settings/content/autoplay - Can't reproduce

1. Open brave://settings/content/autoplay - toggle to allow
2. Next in the playlist played and video wasn't paused.

I'm having the same issue on mac: OS: MacOS Monterey 12.3.1 (21E258) Browser: [Version 1.38.111 Chromium: 101.0.4951.54 (Official Build) (x86_64)]

I honestly don't know when it started happening, but I reckon is pretty recently no more than 10days~2weeks

Since I see the bot is having troubles reproducing the bug, here's a video of what happening right now on my computer:

Please ping me whenever this issue is fixed in order to redownload brave, I'm no longer using brave because of this.

I can't keep using brave and then switch browsers in order to watch youtube.
