"Access denied, download interrupted" message when trying to install extensions

Description

Whenever I try to install an extension from the chrome web store it fails. Something to do with download error.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Try installing the following extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/crxmouse-chrome-gestures/jlgkpaicikihijadgifklkbpdajbkhjo
2. After hitting the "Add Extension" button on the button that comes up, I can see an attempt to start downloading the extension file (".crx")
3. The download hangs at: "Starting" and then fails with: "Failed - Network timeout"
4. then I get the "Access denied" message with the following details: "Download interrupted ".
5. This occurs when attempting to install any extension from the chrome web store.

Actual result:

Displays error message "Access Denied" with "Download interrupted ".

Expected result:

Extension to successfully install and work.

Consistently

Brave version (brave://version info)

[Version 1.40.105 Chromium: 103.0.5060.53 (Official Build) (arm64)]

Version/Channel Information:

• Does the issue resolve itself when disabling Brave Shields? No

@teemo10 Looks like you're on the most recent version. I tried downloading that same extension and couldn't reproduce. Are you on a VPN? Trying to think what else could could do it.

Can you try installing another extension?

@rebron - thanks for the ping, did a little more digging, and updated my original post. Its actually not similar to the issue I linked to earlier. This is strictly to do with the extension file not downloading successfully, so I get the error message "Access Denied" and "Download interrupted". And yes, this occurs when attempting to install any extension, I tried with a number of random extensions.

@rebron - No, I was unable. I consistently run into the same issue when trying to install any extensions from the chrome web store.

I just tried something..

Download the CRX file throught PostMan Put Brave in Dev Mode on brave://extensions Drag and drop the file on the browser

It works for me like that.

Seems that the download is stop just before the end!
