Cannot copy autocompleted url on macos

Description

Steps to Reproduce

• open new tab (command-T)
• type in enough text to get it to autocomplete a domain you’re interested in (for me, heart -> https://heartbleed.com/index.html)
• do not hit enter, instead do select all (command-A) and copy (command-C)
• move to slack or whatever and hit paste
• i get chrome://newtab/

Actual result:

chrome://newtab/ copied

Expected result:

omnibox url copied

100%

Reproduced the issue using 1.49.117 Chromium: 111.0.5563.50 and STR from description. Typed "gi" and "github.com/brave/brave-core/commits" was shown in URL bar. Used "cmd + A" as instructed followed by "cmd + C". When pasting in Slack or here, chrome://newtab/ was pasted, not the expected URL.

Repeated same steps using 1.49.118 Chromium: 111.0.5563.50 and STR from description. Confirmed when pasting the expected URL, https://github.com/brave/brave-core/commits was pasted, not chrome://newtab.
