Search autocomplete in address bar for certain search engines doesn’t work

Description

Brave does not show autocomplete suggestions when searching with Ecosia or Startpage. It works with others like Google or Brave Search.

The issue was already reported for Startpage in #19343

Steps to Reproduce

Activate "Show autocomplete in adress bar" and "Autocomplete searches and URLs" in the privacy settings
Change the search engine in Brave to Ecosia or Startpage
Type something in the address bar

Actual result:

No suggestions from the search engine is shown.

Expected result:

Autocomplete suggestions from the search engine are shown like with Brave search or Google.

Easily reproduced on multiple devices and versions.

Desktop Brave version:

Brave | 1.48.171 Chromium: 110.0.5481.177 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Autocomplete does not work with Startpage either, but I don't think that this is a Brave issue.

Tried using both Ecosia and Startpage on Firefox, and there's no autocomplete there as well.

Ecosia's autocomplete worked for me in Firefox, Chrome and Edge. You may be right about Startpage, it doesn't work for me there either.
