Currently, the Brave homepage only allows the user to pin 12 websites to the "top sites" pane on the default Brave dashboard, which (at least in my experience) is woefully insufficient. While the pane does have a built-in "paging" function that allows additional websites to be pinned, additional clicks from the user are required to access these websites, which IMO is poor UX. Even when using the default settings, plenty of screen real estate is available to expand this pane to allow for more websites to be pinned.
Ideally, a responsive/customizable design could be used in which the pane expands vertically to fit as many pinned sites as possible (preferably also with some way to manually limit the number of rows for users that prefer the more compact design), and only paging the content when absolutely necessary. Another possible improvement would be to allow the user to customize the size of the website pins to fit more of them on each row.
An extremely quick and dirty mockup of what I mean:
[P.S.: I have opted to not use the issue template, as this is more of an improvement than the bug report. If this is a faux pas, I am open to a slap on the wrist :)]
