Folder icons in the Linux version look extremely flawed compared to the Windows version, which negatively affects the viewing of folders with bookmarks

@Zalexanninev15 Can you add a screenshot to let us know what you're seeing?

@Zalexanninev15 What webpage are you looking at? A local folder like /home?

Non-Windows style icons throughout the folder browser. I would like to know why and how to make the icons more... colorful both in Windows and for the sidebar more presentable.

fmarier commented 1 year ago

I see how: it's from the bookmark sidebar while the browser is set to dark mode.

Yes, the icons look a bit ugly for me as well.

rillian commented 1 year ago

I see the same icon in the bookmarks panel, in both light and dark versions of both the classic and gtk themes.

It seems pixelated and doesn't really match either the system or brave icons from other contexts.

Interesting - when I'm not in sidebar mode my icons look fine: image

In sidebar, they don't look good at all: image

That's right, but even in the full-fledged bookmark editing mode, icons of a different type are used. I.e., the browser uses 3 types of folder icons: on the bookmarks bar, in the sidebar and in the bookmarks manager. At the same time, none of these places has icons at least similar to those in the browser on Windows (my opinion is that icons on Windows versions are ideal and should be on all desktop versions of the browser, my opinion; or at least unify icons for all browser versions so that there is not the same strange situation).

Upd: In the Windows version, the bookmark manager has the same type of icons, I believe it is the same on all versions. Even in this version there are 2 types of them. And wait, no. There are 3 of them again (Now they are more modern in the bookmarks bar, more... in windows 8-10, the style is in the sidebar, well, and the bookmark manager. A strange mix.
